We just bought this sled and the previous owner started it, rode it, parked it and then went to re-start it any hour or so later and it wouldn't start. He pulled out both spark plugs and pulled the rope and fuel sprays out both cylinders, is this a possible stuck float? electrical problem? ( there is an electrical plug on one of the carbs). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

It's probably not a stuck float since it's unlikely that both would be stuck. The sled would at least try to start on one cylinder even if one was stuck.
Are you getting spark? If not, try disconnecting the safety kill system by unplugging the 3 prong plug at the base of the handlebars. Does that sled have a lanyard? (another kill switch with a cord that clips to your suit so the sled kills if you fall off :p) If so, make sure that is seated. It can also be bypassed by unplugging it under the hood.
I'm not familiar with the electrical component on the Carb. I have a 2000 Powder Special 600 and it doesn't have that. I would guess that it is either a sensor of some sort or a slide position switch. If it is a position switch, it could be causing your problem. On the older sleds, the slie position switches needed to by bypassed by unplugging them, then using a bypass plug or a piece of wire to bridge across the 2 plugs where the carb switch pluged in to the sled harness.
But, I'm just guessing on that issue. Maybe someone will respond that knows more about what that Carb electrical component is.
