My friend just bought a 98 MXZ 500 chassis without the motor. He has a older mach 1(91-94, not to sure). The motor is a 617 twin with rave. The motor and chassis are both in great shape. Anyone know of any problems, and will everything fit correctly, clutch the secondary? Motor mounts? Just any problems anyone might know that he might have? Thanks Joshua

I try to look in to that a while back and found out that the older style motors will not fit because of the mounting plate is totaly different.

gwn. you need the correct mounting plate, I would check out a plate for a 98 670 the 617 should bolt right to the 670 plate.

yes, we took the 617 motor out and found that it won't fit, but we looked and we noticed it would sit way to low and hit the steering rods, then my friend said we would need a mounting plate from a s-2000 chassis liquid sled. He phoned a few different places and found that it will fit as we said if he got the right mounting plate.
Thanks for input
