I had to keep going or i would sink.I was with a party of 10 and ANYBODY how left the hard packed trail was going to be in trouble, but you have to play.I had to drop and roll to my sled. But at the end of the day it does make for some fun video

citation-83 01-14-2008, 03:29 PM lol, you went pretty far
Try the eneloop batteries, a little less capacity than the AA duracells, but way better in the cold and almost zero self discharge rate.

MXZ_X_800 01-15-2008, 04:42 AM If you were trying to point your skis in the direction you wanted to turn in that deep snow, it could be the reason you couldn't turn.
Not trying be smart but from your post saying the skis turn like crap I have to ask. Were you trying to turn in the powder using just your skis?
I see you've been riding since 1978 so pardon me if you already know how to turn in deep snow.
You were turning left into the powder off the hrad pack and then the sled turns hard right as soon as you get off the trail.
If you turned the skis left and were leaning left the sled would try to go right or straight as yours did. Heres what i did only under power, notice left ski
I've rode with a few new powder riders in my days and it looks like you made the classic mistake of turning your skis in the direction you wanted to turn.
If you or anyone reading this post is new to off trailing, here is a basic explanation of how you turn in powder.
To turn left in deep snow you have to turn your skis slightly right and lean left. Your sled will want to lean/turn left.
It's the opposite for turning right. skis turned slightly left and lean your body right.
As the sled starts to turn you can straighten your skis or turn them slightly in the direction you want to go but ONLY after the sled is leaning/turning in the direction you want to go.
By the way nice parting of the trees. You seemed to find the shortest ones to nail.
Nice cam set up too.[/b]
If you watch the video my mistake was i didnt come in to the soft stuff at 90 degrees.I turned 180 degrees on the hard packed and then got sucked in on my right side and thats why my left ski is in the air,she just about rolled over.Totally caught me off guard. This isn't powder its corn snow(wet and heavy).Twenty mins before that stunt 8 sleds were stuck and it took us about 1 1/2 hrs to get everybody out, so when i was thrown off my sled and was just sitting in the snow i was think to my self NOT AGAIN.Here a video of my buddy doing same thing at 2 mph. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piCxnd_LCPI
Sorry about that. Guess I shouldn't have assumed it was powder.
ZIPPARS02mxz800sp 01-15-2008, 12:56 PM WOW that must have scratched the front of your sled to rat ####. :whatever:
and you were pretty silent after it happned. I would have been :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:
Buddy of Jawz 01-15-2008, 05:40 PM :lmao: Forget e-tec and that stuff, you need a Husqvarna on the front and a seat belt.
