Don't get too worked up man. It has to be from the chain case or a loose line somewhere in the oil delivery system. The boys at BRP will get you all fixed up. You have a great piece of first year technology there. It may take a couple of trips to the dealer to get it perfect, but I'm sure it will get there.

How do you like it other than that? Any other problems or things that you really like about it?

Wow Dean.......Sorry to hear about this but as Idooski says they will fix you up.. first year sleds are known for finding the things they work on for later years.

I know you love that Sled so as soon as they fix it up for ya, you will be good to go there, and here.

It is not chaincase leak, I,m leaking two stroke oil, tank a little low. I do love the way this sled rides and handles, but I'm worried if it going to hold up.I think there design is great, but workmenship is lacking.

Your right I doo love this sled, but watching issues pile up on this sleds have me worried about it. This is my second first year sled I got, and I know bugs have to be worked out of them, just seems this one is having alot, that could have been avoided IMO.

Man, that's a bummer for sure!

If there is a good thing about the situation for you, it's the fact that our snow doesn't exist at the moment. :bash:

Hopefully the dealer will get everything squared away for you before winter returns....

12 days ..... you better get her fixed , snow4 is expectting to test ride that new XP  .I thought this last post of yours would be saying you could'nt wait for the dealer and you jumped right in there and found it. Have you been in there looking?I know it has to be a little more difficult than the rev ,since doo has everything packed in there. Air box and carbs and I have a pretty good view around the tank and pump.
Can you trace any oil trails around the tank sides or anything? I know if it was me I would not be getting any sleep untill I found it , Id be in there up to my elbows looking .

Still Looking :bash: :bash: :bash:[/b] Sometimes if you put the cap on too tight it will make the female part of the oil tank oblong. Thus, leaking out of the top of the oil cap. Make sure the tank is not oblong and leaking around the oil cap. Also, check the oil tank vent tube. Are you sure it is not the chain case lube? I know Ski-Doo had a recall on the chaincase leak. Hope this helps. :D

I have seen oil leaks at the "T" when the Oitiker style spring clamps are user. I replaced them with traditional style clamps and problem was gone.

That's a great offer, THANKS but have bad knees, that's why I got the XP or I would have been on Rev lot sooner. My wife BatDooBee is on Old Rev and I good for about 15 minutes on hers when we swap. Should get to bottom of oil leak before we head up for trip.

That is a cheap fix if this is it. Good luck.

Any update on this one?

I thought about the leak on mine a little more - mine was probably due to over-tightening the cap. I tend to snug it down pretty good and a couple of times I almost needed a wrench to get it off!

I am heading up North for a (hopefully) high-mileage weekend on Friday! :D

Got it back from dealer, he thinks it was from cap, he said a few have had leaks if you fill all the way up and over tighten. He said to fill just above 3/4 mark and just snug cap. I did see a guy on Doo-Talk makes inserts to put in so you don't egg-shape the opening but just for old Revs, hope he makes them for XPs. Worth trying so you could fill tank all the way. Also some have had trouble with vent line being kinked, but said mine was ok.
Also he changed a fuse in fuse box from a 7.5 to 15amp. I think it was bottom row 2nd in from right he said there is to much load on it and some were blowing fuse. He said Ski-Doo told him about it, check with your dealer to make sure I told you right one.

Glad to hear it wasnt anything to serious. Now go rack up some mileage on it and give me some feedback on it.

Thanks for the tip! I think I will just get a couple of spares to bring along so I don't get stranded and if they start blowing I will look into it more deeply. I haven't looked and the manual is 300 miles away - do they just take standard auto fuses? Looked like it when I glanced at them but didn't look too closely...

Sat and Sunday I am going to hit it hard this weekend. A week and a half ago they got 24"-30" of snow - it has been in a deep-freeze ever since. I hope to find some pockets of deep stuff left and see what this thing can do in the powder! w00t :D

thanks!
