I have a 1990 ski doo safari LC and i would like to replace the stock aibox and filter with a K&N filter. I was wonder if anyone could tell me which jets i should replace the stock ones with and also if i even have to reeplace the jets?? Thank you

yes, you will have to rejet it. Cant tell ya where to start. I really dont know what you are going to gain going to the K&N but a big headache with jetting. Personally I would leave it alone.

I don't think the K & Ns block much water. I recall in the past 'doo saying to start w/ jetting 10 sizes bigger than stock & going from there w/ plug checks. Also use iso propyl for gas line anti freeze.

It doesnt block much water but thats why you buy the snochargers to put over it. 10 sizes bigger??? the stock ones are main jet 280 pilot jet 35. i was also reccomened if i put in the air filter to change the jets to main- 310 and pilot-45??

i dont like the idea either but.. from my xpereeence, 3 up on the mains , one to two needle clips, and one to two size pilots. 10 is alot, but they tell you that cause nobody wants to know nothin if it melts.

Fouled plugs are cheaper than fried pistons & cylinders.

Not to be mean or anything, but you really need to know what you are doing to change over to the K&Ns. You have going to have to be doing plug checks at 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full throttle. You got to make sure that none of the circuits are running lean or you will burn down the motor. What are you hoping to accomplish with going to the K&N filter?

Ok, the needle clips are the long needle that slides up and down into the main jet when you move the throttle lever allowing more gas in. There are different positions for the needle, there is a clip near the top that can be moved, this will affect your jetting also.
