hello everybody, like the site, good way to look for information, but getting to the subject. i have a 1998 FZ 670 with the arc/arm suspension. hard suspension to get the right setting. so getting rid of the arc suspension. found a sc-10 11 suspension in good shape with few miles. the way i understand it all is required is the support brackets and drilling new holes for it. that suspension is coupled right, but can be uncoupled when you want it to. now all with that being done, will that change the front suspension and what would have to be done with the front. i understand that sc-10 11 suspension should help lift the front where's the arc suspension kept the skis on the ground, but i know the suspension will fit and any info would be nice.

i've done it. you don't have to drill nothing. if you check your rear axle shaft is about 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch shorter than the sc-ii shaft. you'll have to take some off to get it in there. that's it.

Welcome to Snowmobileworld :D . The sc-11 suspention should work good in the Formula Z. It should not change the steering much do to the suspention travel is almost the same. I had a 99 Formula Z & I had no problems with the suspention. I must have found the right set up because I could do things with that sled that I couldn't with other sleds. I found that I could get the skis to lift when I was moving but not from a stop. I always wondered how this sled would work with a sc-11. Can you post some pics when you are done.

paul you say you can use the rear bolt hole to mount it, doesn't have to sit 1-2'' below the chasis. ya the arc suspension is hard to set. either it bottoms out or is so stiff that it takes your back out. the ski-doo dealer was telling me that buying new shocks and springs won't help. and not only that the cost is so much that i'm better off to buy a new skid that someone knows how to set it. :lookaround:

does your tunnel not have a drop down bracket on both sides where the upper rear arm is attached?

no, the formula z suspension bolted into the chasis. i looked at it this evening and the suport braket is roughy 4'' in front of the center hole and then goes all the way back. the way i understand is that i have to buy the support braket for the sc-10 suspension. grind the rivets and redrill for the other support.

You will need these:
518318924 BRKT-RR LH WELD $24.99 $24.99
518318923 BRKT-RR RH WELD $24.99 $24.99
And you will need to trim the factory tunnel reinforcement to allow clearance. Search this site for correct distance measurement between front mounting hole and rear bracket placement. Don't forget to drill the new brackets to 1/2" to accept the larger bolts on the SC10 II or III skid.
