New sled seems to be rich. Used 18.4 L of fuel to 1.1 litres of oil. Do I thread adjuster on oil pump cable in or out to achieve a leaner setting.

Thanks in advance

To use less oil, you thread the adjuster on the oil pump cable in. This makes the outer part of the cable shorter and results in the oil pump moving less than it did before adjusting. My adjustment is approx 3/8" and my ratio is running at 41 to 1. To be sure you can reduce the adjuster in a couple of steps and keep track of the fuel and oil used at each step.

After adjusting, make sure the outer cable is inside of the adjusting nut, the lock nut is tight and the rubber cover is in place.

I hope that you get snow soon..

That is why I suggested that you adjust the cable in steps. If you are not sure if you might go too far, you can always put some oil into the fuel.

Your measurement of 3/8". Is that the measurement between the ends of the adjusters not including the jam nut?

My 02 MXZ is 28mm (1.102") between the end of the cable socket and the end of the cable

The 3/8" is the amount of thread showing. Or stated in your words - the measurement between the ends of the adjusters not including the jam nut.

Some snow in the air here this morning. We need a lot more, Mother Nature if you are listening.

Here is an earlier TSB. Same logic applies and check your pump for hanging up and not returning to idle position.
