Please refresh my memory on how to hook one of these up please. I just purchased a new helmet for the wife and a heated shield. The shield comes with the necessary wires to hook up to the sled and instructions but who reads them, and there are no pictures.
It claims all I have to do is locate a hot side and ground the other wire but restricts it to only a certain amount of amps. I do not have a tach so, can I just tap into that? I hate to do that and fry the shield if the amps are too high.
Also, do all heated shields have the same connectors? Will the cable from this shield work with an Arctic Cat shield and so on.
Thanks snowmobileworld.com folks.

Richard

PS: My connector has two bare wires that have to be hooked up to something then the plug that connects to the cable for the shield.

Don't know if you wiring is similar on a 2007 but if you have a yellow/brown wire plug space availage, check the above link.
I got my 2-prong trailer connector from a local auto parts store.

Thanks. I read through that and was more confused when finished. I think I'll just let the dealer do it for me.

Your wife's sled is the panther, right? (I'm not sure what the wiring on that 4 stroke looks like but if somewhere behind your console there is a yellow and brown wire going into a connector that looks like it has an extra space, that's where you get power from. Take your two wires from the face sheild harness (red/black) and connect them to a 2-prong trailer wire adapter. I got one at the local Autozone for about $1.98, and cut the end off to use the plug. Make sure red wire goes to the yellow and the black goes to brown. (If you get the connector I did and cut the end, make sure you use the right end or the wires will end up backwards. (it's easy when you are looking at it.)
Once the plug end is attached to the shield harness all you do is plug it into that accessory connector.

If you can get a pic of the wires under the console, we can tell you exactly where to plug in OR IF SOMEONE HAS A 660 AND KNOWS WHAT THIS LOOKS LIKE PLEASE CHIME IN!!

It's not that complicated when you're in there looking at it. It's just tough to describe in words. ANYONE HAVE A PICTURE!? Help our Floridian brotha out!
