Was anyone at the races on sunday at pei, I herd that the f7 lost to the rx1. There were two rx1 the f7 bet one but not the other. The dealer said the f7 was stock. They came in second place, he said the rx1 must have work done, what do u think. ???

:( Oh no

This can NOT be true

The F7 lost a race, looks like Cat is about to fold and go into receivership :(

Are you saying a RX-1 beat a F7 ??? ;)

I thought that the F7 was the greatest and fastest sled around this year

One word,

TURBOCHARGER!!!!

Saw one on a RX1 out in Syracuse NY, care of Bender Racing in Buffalo NY.....they say it puts out sick horsepower, I can't remember for sure, but I think it was around 200 or more.....

Pretty sick either way, for a 600 lb + - snowmobile!!!!

that dosent sound right it beat one but lost to the other it had to hae had mods in it if the f7 was stock

If both would been stock the Rx1 would be left behind easily.

I read that with a turbocharged RX-1 can push out 300h.p. with very high octane, dont remember the number  Just what i read...........

The RX-1 would have to do something to beat a stock F7, ain't gonna' do it stock for stock.

The RX-1 @ Bender racing with the Turbo Charger had 220 HP. On the saame floor there wasa ZR? 1050 and at that booth they said they were getting 240 out of that

They were racing 600' feet.

Bender has three kits, a 180, a 240, and a 3 something horse kit. The 180 kit is a trail kit and is very reliable horsepower. You can't get a two stroke to run a turbo like a four stroke. The reliability just isn't there.

i wonder what the turbo lag will be ??

All the cat guys are the same...my ol' man is a die hard cat guy...if he wins a race its because the cats are just sooo fast..and if he losses he some how dosen't remember it or the other guy had a tunnel ram hidden under the hood, or some other reason like the snow wasn't right or some crap like that...when you line up thats it...you see the guys machine...you know the chances....if your going to wine if you loose don't line up!!

I love my ol' man dearly, but man he's got the excuses if he losses...just like all the other cat guys...well most of them i should say

well that should have ruffled a few feathers... :sly:

I didn't write that reply with that in mind, i guess it just struck a funny bone in me between me and my dad always going back and forth and thats what came out...that wasn't writen in anger or anything sorry if it came across wrong.

the whole thread just sounded like me and my 'ol man going at it about how the F7 should not have lost unless the RX-1 was hopped up..thats all... ???

the RX1 doesnt have any problems that a few grand wont fix................hell for the kind of money its going to cost to get that thing competative I would prefer to have a couple new two stoke sleds parked in my garage.

Ive seen a Rx-1 drive both publicly and privatly and theres no way it won against a F7. I wonder if even the turbo charged RX-1 could have pulled them off.

From what ive seen from these sleds so far, there a amazing touring sled with some major zip, But no racer.

We had some snow in the last week and I had the oppertonity to drive my buddies RX-1.

It is one major nice sled, it is very quiet and smooth, It felt a lot like the mach Z.

Powerwize it felt like a well running 600. I didnt want to top out or destroy my buds sled so i sort of took it easy.

Top speed is still a question. But in a drag stock for stock the RX-1 is pretty tame.

Hey highlander thats aload of crap and you know it!!The highlands that you and I sled in will tell the tale .Before that so called race you were at an F-7 too 700s, 700triple, 800 stock and placed in 1000 stock only one two weeks early. There was know way a ''stock " RX-1 won little lone place in the finals that time !!Bottom line don`t shovel it the ski-doo`s boys are buy it.Or maybe that a good thing. We were at the the grass drags the race before .THe only way the F-7 could lose that day was if the spark plugs were taken out,it ruled all those above classes. It was teched also, before and after. No RX-1`s made it too the finals period!cat-1, cat-2, ski-doo -3.

around here the f7 is not that fast. it is a 700. it will not beat an srx. this weakend there was a guy here with his new rx1 he put an 1.25 preditor track on it and all the rest was stock. and it ran good he did beat the srx,mxz800 with studs, the rev8,a formula111 not shure if it was an 8 or 7 but still i have to say it was impressive. he would blow past the pack at about 200feet and just keep going and i would say pretty strong.i did not have my machz there to run but i dont think it will run with that but it wont be that far back.i think that if u own a nwe rx1 i would tell you 1 thing 9818PREDITOR........LOL

:D lol, thats what racins all about. Who can come up with the excuse faster then the other for loosing. Cant get too serious into it or it's just not fun nomore. Your rite by saying dont whine but a good excuse can be funny. Had a buddy in daytona race another guy, two stock hyabussas, and he lost. He wanted to check the bike cause he won the first 3 races. There was nothin wrong with the bike but he was sour bout it. So one of my other freinds pulled out a 10 lb N20 bottle out of our trailer and hid it in his coat. He walked up to the other guys bike and acted like he pulled it out from under the seat and shouted "Oh my God!.....Look rudy, he was spraying, look!!!. Then he held the bottle up in the air real high and cracked open the valve and waved it around. It was in front of about 100 people and they all thought it was funny. My loosing budy finally broke down and started laughing eventually getting over the lose.

:hallo1: i was at my dealer the other day picking up my f7.They were talking about the races at the other end of the island the other day.The f7 was doing not that great most of the morning i dont know what was beating it......by afternoon when the traction was coming around and it was not spinning badly and started hooking up it was the fastest thing there.even going by the 900's...any machine can get beat..if u are slepping at the light's get a bad holeshot it takes alot of power to over come a bad light or holeshot.....there was the same result's in n.b.

guys lets not get carried away here......lol we have had the f7 out and it is no match for the 900...lol not realy even for a properly tuned 800 zr... why would cat try to sell u a more $$$$$$$$ 800 or 900 if u could just buy a 700 and kill everything out there....lol now dont get me wrong here. the f7 is an awsome sled i realy like the style and the fuelly seem to work well but i just dont want some guy saying i have read this at sw and the f7 is the fastest sled out there then gets out there and brings it back to his dealer saying there must be something wrong with my sled

are you saying a stock F7 vs stock ZR 900 (or 8 for that matter) the 7 wins every race? seems like cat markets the 7 as a trail sled and the 9 as dragracer. if the F7 is the quicker sled in a straight line then why get a 900??

byoffcr
11-12-2002, 04:57 PM
Exactly right.Why?

TallCool1
11-12-2002, 05:20 PM
Beaucoup, that's the question a lot of people will be asking, and CAT will have to answer this season. The F7 is doing what people are saying...people w/slightly modded 8's and 9's are having a problem beating stock 7's. Even the larger triples don't stand a chance to this sled w/out some mods. Wouldn't be surprised if CAT rethinks the whole ZR line and drops it....hopefully there will be a 900EFI, that might be the ZR's only hope. Trust me, I don't like the idea of losing to an F7 either, but am realizing that I'll probably have to face the facts when the snow flies. I think this sled is a lot more capable than anyone thought it would be, including CAT.

I think the F7 is a awsome machine, but I think people are pumping it up just alittle too much...just my 2 cents...

anybody know the top end on an F7? still seems hard to believe that a stock 700 twin will take down a big triple, but i havent even seen one run so what do i know. it would be kind of cool if it's true.
