I have a 2001 Pantera 580 EFI. I am using twice as much fuel as anyone we ride with. My eyes burn from the fuel at idle. I do not know anything about EFI, can anyone guide me to what the problem may be? She also dies and then runs back up when running down the trail. Sometimes at low speeds when under torque also. When it falls on it's noise I throttle in and out and it is fine until the next time. Not sure if this all related. Thank you.

I'm having the same problem with my '99 Pantera. Did you make any progress on this?

EFI engines are so dependent upon sensors to control their function that a single sensor malfunctioning can really make the engine run poorly. The most basic way you might check these is to look to make sure that wires are intact from every sensor so that all "messages" are getting through. Beyond that, you might either get a manual for your machine or talk to a service person about you symptoms. They may or may not be willing to help and may want to see the machine.
