Sled just shut off 25-30 minutes into the ride the other night, started right back up and ran fine but I knew what happened my question is why? The sled was at operating temp and I was at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. Got back and did a compression test 160psi pto 110 mag so I tore it down and the mag side piston has the telltale marks of a 4 corner seizure.
This sled has the factory twin pipes and ive been told that this setup is known for squeeking pistons....what can I do to avoid this after I fix that cylinder because there is only 100mi. on this motor since a complete rebuild, new crank bearings, cylinders bored .020 over etc..
Also what noise would a crank bearing on its way out make while the motor is running? I started hearing a whirring noise the other day while riding coming from the pto side of the motor so now im debating on fixing this motor again or just parting the sled out and find something newer...more dependable.
