Hi all.
Hopefully you can give me some help/advice.
I have never worked on brakes before, I am just going off the Clymer manual.
I have a 95 Wildcat and the brakes apparently didn't release and they overheated. I found out when I stopped and went to re-start the sled and it melted my starter rope, and melted a hole in my oil tank.
The tank and recoil are fixed, but the brakes are giving me a headache.
I got new pads and installed them, but the original caliper wouln't release. So I got a new (used) caliper.
I bled the old brake fluid out, installed the new caliper and pads, put in new fluid. I Attached a clear tube to the bleeder, bled the system and I am not getting any bubbles any more. But the Pistons are not extending, and with the bleeder closed it never builds any pressure when pumping the handle. When the bleeder is open, it will pump the fluid out just fine.
I also noticed there is a gap between the pad and drum on the "outside" piston, and it is tight on the"inside" piston. Is this normal, or do I have the caliper installed wrong?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
