I have a 2005 early release Renegade and I find that the track spins out very easily upon takeoff. This is especially annoying when in deep snow and I have to back up. It seems that as soon as you give it throttle -even feathered as much as possible- the track grabs fast and the machine digs itself down into the snow instead of gently riding upon it. I have a new OEM belt and the pulley faces are clean and there have been no modifications to the machine. My buddies have newer renegades -2006 and theirs seem to back up no problem. I'm looking for suggestions to help out my situation. Would changing the # of teeth on one of the sprockets do the job or would it be a clutching issue?
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

They are on the highest setting.
I recently upgraded the suspension spring to the heavy one from the dealer trying to get the suspension to return to a more upward position - no avail -the thing still drags down in the rear.
The blocks always sit toward the rear stop.

If you change gears you will lose or gain speed somewhere then you have to start playing with the jets and clutch , I would just keep adjusting the suspension until it was right

Would a softer setting be better for powder?

I too have the same issue - I really notice it when I try to move my sled with little snow and a dirt or gravel surface, darn thing digs a hole faster than a coon hound!
It drives me nuts. I only move it on low snow conditions when absoltley necessary - and only for about 15 feet - but it ALWAYS digs down. I tried sitting/kneeling on the rear of the seat, front of the seat, off of the seat and nothing works.
