I picked up a 98 xc 600 last year for an extra sled ,I ride a 2000 Thundercat or 03 F7 what can I say I like green, anyways picked up this 600 big block as it turn out pto bearing was gone and the jugs looked like #### , junk, so I deside to make it a 700.Bought 220 jugs reman crank it has vforce reeds, my questions are I've ported the exaust port raising the port 3mm i did not widen it but did take out material at the top corners of the port and to keep a nice radius thats how I ended up rasing the port height. I used a carpenders square to mark the sides of the port and slid the piston in to mark the top of the port so I knew were to stop and were to take out material
they look good. I'm trying to find out what I can before I put it to gether and start reading wash and see how it performs. AS I said it was a 600 so now what pipe do I go with the stock one falls off at 8000rpm,dyno tech shows an old dyno test of an 97 rmk 700 and it made 122hp @7750 and on a long pull would carry it to 8000 then lose 40 hp after that . I think the exaust porting will help this top end but what pipe or pipes? also I an going to run the 600 cdi until I can find one for a 700 I am looking for a head right now so things are on hold til I have a head. I wish someone had a dyno service around here but no luck. HELP

i cant give ya anything concrete...but obviously if ya could borrow a 700 pipe and test with both that would be the way to go. trouble is, and i`m not sure your aware of it yet, your clutching is gonna be wacked out abit. whatcha gonna use thesled for?? in doo land in a drag race situation sometimes the smaller pipe makes the bigger power short. are the 600 and 700 pipes different for sure...odder things have happened.

If anyone has a 824 jug laying around I would like to know what it measures.
My 220's ported measured -port height34.25mm the other 34.5mm
from top of ex port to deck34.3 the other 34.2
These measurments are as accurate as I could be with calipers
