What I used to do with my dirt bikes is drill a small hole in the end of one and hit it with compressed air.

i used a hair dryer to take the grips off of my 4wheeler so i could install heated grips. this made them soft and easy to take off.

the one about the compressed air is the best i have heard of a few times but i have never done it, next time i will try that though. as for replacing the grips or new ones i boil mine and although i have never heard of hair spray on the bars and grips some of the people here put on hair spray to slide the grips on easily.

;) I had to remove mine on my 700 Doo and used a hair dryer. Be rear carefull with twisting them, use a straight pull or you will ruin the heat-wrap on the grip. I used hair spray to install the new ones because it not only lubricates but when it dries is acts like a glue substance to help hold them in place.
