Hello, I have a 94 Mach Z 800 Triple and I was just wondering what the symptoms of a leaking or blown crank seal on the clutch side would be. The sled hits and misses on the third cylinder, 2 are up and running well.?? The only reason I think it may be the crank seal is because I didn't have a clutch puller, and I removed the clutch by heating it and putting snow and ice on it to cool it to shrink the metal. If anyone can assure me that this is what it is, or has any feedback please be sure to let me know Thanks,

The sled would be revving and very lean. It all depends on the size of the leak. Sometimes it wont run at all, other times it will race away. Most of the time the story ends with a blown engine.

To ease your mind get the engine pressure tested and buy a clutch puller for future. A lot of guys have wrecked engines using hammers to get clutches off. But it doesnt sound like a leaking crank to me.

spray something flammable at the seal with the engine running and see if the rrr's pick up or change at all. used to use wd40 but it isn't real flammable anymore.

have u blown a drive belt ? happened to my buddys sled. when he blew the belt , it wrapped around the clutch and dameged the seal . he started the machine after we changed the belt and the rpm went up to around 4500 at idle. use start spray , if rpm goes up u have a leak .
