I have never done any water cross just rivers and streams going a-b. Depending on the sled and track you can skip aroud 30-35 mph on most sleds.

so should I just hit water at 30 mph and then punch it, or 3/4 or what?

grab a fist full and lean back!!! You'll love it. It's been flooded around me for the last couple days and I've been having fun since.

I use a Formula 500 SLS. It worked ok with stock set up. Loosen your limiter strap & crank up your frt shock in your rear suspention to the stiffest setting. I changed my set up & it is a complete watersled now. :D
