We captured my best crash ever on both wife-cam and helmet-cam, so check that out, it's the first clip on the youtube. It was dumb in that I knew it was coming and hitting the throttle would have probably saved it, but I messed up and now it's a classic moment. I was afraid the throttle would just make me crash harder, but most likely I would have just skipped over that hole. As the helmet cam proves, I knew I was toast well before the crash begun. I actually jumped off and pushed off the bars as I was crashing, that's why I landed so safely without a scratch.
We still have 12 feet but after the rain it has now refrozen and the surface is no longer very soft. Your track still digs right through the crust and you can still get stuck (as you will see) but for the most part the "powder" was really bumpy and hard to keep control. I had too much traction for the RMK and so I did most of my climbs on the Vmax just to make it a challenge. The worst part is the skis often do not punch through the snow when your track does, so a sidehill climb can really easily turn into a roll in these conditions. At least the sun was finally out.
I broke both windshields as well, you can hear the RMK windshield pop during my crash as it rolls, and toward the end of the youtube when I roll the Vmax down the hill to get it unstuck you can hear the windshield pop on the first roll. Good times.
