i notice that my track is angled towards the front, back half of the track is off the ground some what.... previous owner must of had it set up so it doesn't do wheelies.... Its a 2001 yamaha srx 700, i like how when ever you pin it, its all strait forward power, not wheelie then go, which is cool in a drag race.... if i were to mess with my limiter straps would that make the track sit level? hence causing wheelies? just curious.... might not do anything with it, seeing as in i'm always planted in a strait line, my buddies same exact sled, will hold the skis off the ground if hes on it good......

I don't know what holes the straps are set at now, haven't looked, just my guess.... inch 1/4 studs x 170+

Thanks for any help.

Get a copy of the SRX suspension manual. Usually a few on eBay. There's also a video to go along with it. The suspensions are a little hard to dial in all at once. You'll have to try a few adjustments to get it to behave like you want it to.

And, for the record, these things EAT hyfax. Pick up a marginal snow kit for around $65. It'll save you $50 a year in hyfax. Factory settings were WAY too tight. Loosen up the track a little and you'll really feel the difference.

Do you have transfer rods on that skid ? That doesnt sound right , the back should not sit up and the front angle downpast the back. If anything it should be angled up in the front or level on flat ground depending on the strap .If you want to do wheelies get some transfer rods if you dont have them and loosen your front strap alot .

BD-I notice that i have 2 more idler wheels then my buddies 99 srx, mines an 01, and there is a small idler on each side closest to the front of the track (Smaller then all the other wheels).... is there a kit on this thing?

Yamaholic, yea, i believe they'd eat hyfax up, espcially mine but i plan on getting new hyfax every season, the studs are holding any rubber up off the ground i take a good dip in powder when i get a chance ( really hate it when the trail takes you along side a rode with a steep ditch).... what is that kit you are talking about? what does it do?

I was also wondering if i could get more ride height at its full rebound... suspension seems a little too plush for my liking, i'm 235, and the sled has no problem rocketing me along as if my 160 lbs buddy was on it.... i see a collar on the rear spring (the big spring) if i tighten that down, will that just stiffen the susp. or will it get me both more ride height and stiffer susp? i can handle it if its stiffer, i'm in a posting position most of the time anyways, with the except of smooth trails.. I have more literate knowledge on sleds then hands on experience, not too confident to do anything my self, just like the peace of mind that a dealer is doing my work ( i get it done cheap cuz my buddy cuz i know the guy), but its one thing if i fix a problem and it comes back worse then the problem is all on me, but if a dealer messes up, its on him...

thanks for any help

What I said before about the rear up being wrong I think the rear is that way on the srx . I cant remember but I think there are to gold bars that run along the top shock and you can adjust them in three positions .

the rear shock?

Took a look at the bars, i see two gold bars just beneath the big rear spring that hook up to the top of the spring.... and there are no holes in those bars.....

Right now i'm concerned with getting more ride height, yea, i know i can make it stiffer, but nothing to really make it higher due to it being only an 8.5 travel.... was considering an M-10 Skid, are there pros and cons to this suspension being on an srx besides the price? i realize the srx was built around the proaction susp. but will the m-10 Effect handling? or top end? suspension sits fine when i'm on it, (a little plush) but when you hit the bumps it will bottom out i'm pretty sure...

yamaholic, i noticed i have two small boggie wheels closest to the front of the sled, in front of the twin wheels on each side, i was reading up on the marginal snow kit and they were saying something simaler to small wheels and what not that come with the kit, i also have some wheels in between the sliders too.... not found stock on the sled i'm thinking.

random question.... do those front heat exchanger guards just bolt on or is there some modding involved???

thanks

I was gonna say the sam thing as one of the posters above, with it set up like that, it will EAT up the front of your Hyfax big time.

I checked In with my dealer who i bought my sled from and it does have the marginal snow kit on it.... small wheels and wheels in between the rails... reduced hyfax wear.
