I have picked up a set of pipes off of a 99 Z and was wondering if there will be any differnce in jetting or timing with these pipes. Or clutching changes.

My set up now is

I have the head cut and a 1.5 mm base gasket
310-320-310
solid pins
286 ramps
pu. gr. spring 160-260
black ice 46 deg.
stock secondary spring in a-6

any comments would be helpfull

Thanks
Duane

Sounds like your clutching should be close, should be able to get max rrrs to 8100-8200 with clicker on 3.Youll have to re-advance the timing back to 99 specs, and the 99s had 330 mains I believe(cant find the damn race manual).I tried the 99 pipes on my 98 and were not any faster(although) I didnt reset the timing. They did seem quicker coming out of corners though.I am trying a set of dyno ports now.For what its worth ,im not sure how much skidoo tachs are out by (some say 150to 200rpm high)but a couple of 99 machs I have clutched pulled better at or below 8000rpm especially those that have shim kits like yours.

Thanks for input

Where can I get one of those race manuals at the dealer.

I was going to ride it for a while like it is and then one day at my friends lake swich the pipes and see how it reacts.
