I have a '05 F7 EFI Sno Pro. It died on the trail last weekend like I lost spark or fuel. I have good spark and compression. I can put fuel in the cyl's and it runs until that fuel burns up.
I took the fuel line off the fuel pump fitting in the firewall and I get no fuel when I give it a few pulls. I've confirmed the Smart Valves are o.k. I hooked up a 12v light to the fuel pump connector and I get no illumination when pulling. I hooked up my motorcycle battery to the pump and it shoots gas everywhere. Also, I don't think my taillight is illuminating when I pull it over either.
I'm thinking I have an issue with my ECU or Stator but don't know where to go from here to pin point it exactly. Both of those are pretty expensive items and want to be sure before moving forward.
Anyone have any ideas?

pin 31 coming out of ecu is black wire and negative for pump. pin 32 is a red wire and is positive for pump. you should have 12 volts between these 2 when pulling rope. pin 33 and 34 are the wires coming from the stator. these are both orange wires. disconnect 4 pin connector with these wires in it and check ohms between them. should be 1.52 and 2.28 this is done without pulling rope. reconnect a pin connector. remove spark plugs and ground them to engine. connect volt meter between orange wires. pull rope a number times fast. you should get 12 volts.

Had the same problem. Crossfire died on the trail last week. Its under warranty and I figured the fuel pump let go. Well got the call today that it was ready. The positive wire to the pump somehow sheered. It wasn't getting any power. Put a new wire in and started right up......... Sounds like it could be the same problem

Thanks. Will try and post result.

Do you know where the wire was sheered? There is a connector at the firewall and I know the wire is good from there to the pump because that's where I hooked up my motorcycle battery and it pumped just fine.

Hey Tunedbyear,
I checked the resistance of pins 33 and 34 last night. Infinite. Not what I was looking for. I also checked for voltage and on DC I didn't get anything while pulling. On AC I got about 1 volt when pulling.
I'm thinking the stator is indeed bad and not just a broken wire.
Has anyone ever had a stator go out on them on an '05? I just think it's a little strange for an '05 to have the stator go bad.
Anyone know how hard it is to change? Just wondering if I should attempt it or take it to a dealer..
Thanks!
