I have a chance to pick up a 98 XCR 700, not cheap but still reasonable.
I would like to have a triple/triple in the garage.
Haven't heard much of these sleds or mills...
What have you guys heard pro and cons... sled looks and sounds sharp :(

Good sled.
It actually the ultra 680 motor. The previous year it was maketed as a 680 Ultra SPX sp
it has all 98 crank updates that the Ultra didn't have.
- Forth oil line for PTO bearing
- Better clutching
Overall a good performer.
If I was you, I would look for a 99 XCR 700.
These had the variable exhaust, flatslide carbs, TPS. A completely different running monster with a full 700cc.
But if your good at motor work and clutch setup, these non VES motors can really scream.

Been running with one for 2 seasons and no issues. 100%
stock. Overall strong performing trail sled with decent top end out on the lakes.
