I recently got an 87 ski-doo scandik 377r for ice fishing. Once you get it running it runs great. However I ran it out of gas the other day and I couldnt get it to restart until I poured gas down the cylinders. The primer wouldnt suck the gas from the tank. I thought the primer was bad so I put a new one on and have the same problem. The filter and lines are empty and the primer has no gas to suck up. Once the sled is running it runs great. When you leave it running and look at the filter the fuel pump only pulls gass through it when the carb needs it, but never fills the filter and the lines. I even tried filling the filter and lines and then putting it back togeather but it seems to act the same. I am thinking maybe the fuel pump is weak but it seems to run great once you get it started. Anyone have any ideas??? Thanks!!!!!!!!

I'd check all or replace all the lines....they may be old and brittle and sucking air.

took the fuel pump apart and it looked fine so I replaced all fuel lines and the filter including the line in the tank. This fixed something becuase know the primer works and it seems to run good. The only thing I was wondering is that the filter located before the fuel pump seems to run near empty when the sled is running. You can see a trickle of gas coming through it and it seems to increase with rpm. However I was wondering if the pump is not keeping up and the engine and may run lean or out of fuel when run at wide open for very long like on a lake. But so far It seems to run fine at all rpm's. Havent held it open for very long but it seems to run good when I do and the good news is it's snowing out and hard.... Thanks

Did you replace the filter inside the tank to ? check to make shure your boots around carbs are tight and run some carb cleaner in her to clean out fuel pump and carbs
