I currently have a 2006 600 fusion, and love it.... great sled, no problems, great reliability.....

however, I know the 900s have had many problems since coming out in 05.

I am looking at buying another one... but I wanted to get some input on the 700 model. I know its an EFI, and i believe is a few pounds heavier than the 600, but can anyone speak to its reliability, or how it compares with the 600?

any input would be greatly appreciated.

thanks very much

Jason

More than a few I think! The 700 actually has a 755cc engine in it. A guy I ride with has one and he really likes it. Pulls pretty hard thru midrange. It has 3000 miles on it and not a lick of issues with it. For the area that I ride in (groomed trails and fairly short straightaways) My 600 is quite a bit quicker. When we have lined them up an a lake we were neck n neck until it was to dangerous to look a the speedo!

There is actually 2 700 engines. The older engine was the 755 mentioned above based on the 900 block.

The newer one is a 700cc engine based upon the 600cc block you currently have. The new 700 is quicker but not by much.

Regardless of what engine you choose your should go with the CFI option. With fuel prices today, and the fuel economy of those 600HOs it will pay for itself in short order.

If it's a Fusion 700 then it's the 755, and not the 699.
The feul economy of the CFI's is nothing to brag about. I still like the CFI, but I would never tell someone to buy one for the money they'll save on gas.

Just a little history first, Fusions where out in 05 and 06, with the 700 Fusion (755) only a 06 model. After that, 07,08 are IQ,s with the Dragon/IQ 700 being based on the 600 small block engine, not the Fusion700/900 engine. If I had a 600 Fusion I'd keep it intead of buying a 700(755) Fusion. Why, those 755/866 engines vibate alot, some can handle it, I can't. The Fuse 700( 755) may be a tick quicker ( probably not on top end) than the Fuse600, but not enough the trade. Fuse 700 is quite a bit heavier than a 600. Now if your looking at a 07/08 Dragon/IQ700, your looking at 20-25 more hp than your Fuse 6 at about the same weight, with a better handling front end. A win-win situation in my opinion.

i have a 06 700 fussion, and have 1900 miles on it no trouble at all. i have installed the cool air kit, and did away with the 16 pounds of breather box and added the slp air kit.and the slp can. if you are looking for the lake burnner the 700 is not it. but if you are looking for a great trail sled this is the one. you know you hear a lot of bad about the fussionand in 05 i would agree with them but 06 they cleaned it up. i hope this helps and good kuck
