: Anyone else Disappointed in the 2009 lineup?

I just got done looking at the 09 Polaris lineup. It seems they havn't changed much from the 08 models except they are offering the 800 as a full model. I would have thought they would be lighter more powerful sleds. I have been a polaris guy my entire life but if they continue to fall behind in terms of performance, weight, and bringing new technology to the table I may have to look elsewhere. Possibly something yellow as it seems they have something new to offer every year.

Well, I was just ready to complain that Polaris has catered to you guys out west for 09, and let us flatlanders go. Now how can you complain, the new Assault has the be "THE SLED" to have next year for you western riders. Nobody has anything close in the way of suspension that the Assault has, and although I'm sure there can be a difference of opinion on whether the Poo 800 or the Doo 800 is the fastest, neither one will be a slouch. Strange to see only one 700 in the lineup ( if I figured right). Will any 09 handle better than a 800 Dragon, nope. Will there be some sleds that are faster, maybe. Increasing the Shift models, is a good idea, at least in my mind, as I'm not quite ready for $12,000+ sleds yet.
I just heard from a local dealer that the new Turbo 4-stroke Cat lists over $14,000, yowsa.

I thought it looked pretty good. Lower prices up here, and I'm fine with the available technology. It's always nice to have the latest and greatest, but I don't want to pay for it.

I think it is time for you to go to your dealer and snowcheck, that new Switchback. :rolleyes2:

You can tell Liane I said it is okay, and then she should not have a problem with you getting a new sled!:Guillotine_anim:

I find that new 800 Assault very interesting, good thing I already talked myself into waiting till next year to upgrade!

I also think its very strange not to offer the excellent 700 cfi engine?

I don't think it's strange, as the 800 is only a few pounds more than the 700, but has more horsepower (152-154 range). As for the rest of the lineup, I think that Polaris is taking the approach that less is more. I personally like the direction they are heading in, instead of making a wide range of sleds, they are concentrating on what they have and making them the best they can be.
