Oh this story is so upsetting. 6 teenagers in Florida are in a detention center for beating a Florida girl unconscious and not allowing her to leave when she awoke. They continued to pound her at the door where she was trying to leave while two boys allegedly stood watch outside. I just can't believe the "bully mentality" of these kids. What do you all think of this? What should happen to these kids who did this? All over a myspace comment? ridiculous.

I think that they should get what they gave out. The way the court system is. These kids are just going to get a slap on the wrist and be told that's a NO NO. don't do it again. I feel that each one should be put in a real prison cell with hardened criminals for a month or so. Then maybe the will learn a small lesson.

I agree with the previous, the courts will slap them on the hand.
We need to go back to 'an eye for an eye' system. They should let the girls parents beat the he!! out of them. I mean a good disabilitating beating, something that will stay with them for life. Who cares if they are girls. They scared this girl for life, they deserve the same. They need to be held responsible.
I know this seems a bit over the top, but if there is no consequences for their actions there is no reason for the next ones to think twice.
If that happened to my daughter I am certain that I would be in a cell right now for destroying at least a few of them. The juveniles would be ruined for life and the adult might not be with us anymore.
In retrospect, the partents of the girls should also probably receive the same beating for being crappy parents.

I watched on the news about theses teens getting released. Some of them were actual smiling about it in front of the judge. What the HE!! is wrong kids today? I know that there are some GOOD kids out there. But I really hope that they get what they deserve. But I don't think it will happen.

Well apparently the staff of the "Dr Phil" show have bailed out one of them.. Probably not for any intentions but to spark ratings for the show. I find that disgusting too. I think all these teens need a real lesson.

They certainly need to be tried as adults as their actions are deplorable. An example needs to be made that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated. This will hopefully deter others. I feel for the girl and her family in this case.

Just wondering if this is on your news in Canada Jeff? It has certainly made national news over here. I do agree that many teens are watching the outcome of this and hopefully the Judge knows that and indeed makes an example out of what will happen with such behavior.

its crazy what the kids are doing these days.

last year in Halifax, 2 young girls ( 15 & 17) beat a girl up for no reason, they put cigerettes out in her ears and tounge, her eyes were black and swollen shut for days.
