I had this happen on my 89 EXT. You might try cleaning the carb. I found out that it wasn't the cable that was stuck, but where the cable is attached to at the carb. I hope this helped.

you say the other 3 work fine,,, I am assuming you are saying that your cable pulls on all 3 at the box, but the 4th one wont,,,, (2 carbs and oil pump pulling fine, but the mag one wont move). Pull the carb and lay it on its side off the side of the sled. Use a chair, or ladder to hold it. Spray her down (choke cable) with pb blaster and then put a trouble light on it pretty close. Let it sit over night and then you will be able to turn her right out. A mix of the heat along with the pb blaster will break it right loose for you.

thats what I was trying to say,,, 4 cables come out, 1 goes to the oil pump, and the other 3 go to carbs,,, for you to know that your oil pump cable and 2 of your carb cables pull fine but your mag one doesnt, you evidently have your splitter apart (box in your choke cable).
If you cant get your splitter back together good I would get a new one. They arent that expensive and lots of people around here have old parts for the old triples laying around. I know snow800 should have an extra cable that he would sell you.
If you are having problems getting the cable out of the carb, do what I said in the first post,,, it works very well believe it or not.
Keep us updated on your progress when you get a chance,,,

if you did break your choke cable lever, I may have an extra lever here, but I wouldnt have the pin with it. You would have to have your old pin. Just let me know.

so I sprayed WD-40 in the cable housing and it went all the way down and left it out in the sun. it was 70 degrees today and were just under 9000 so it got the carb nice and warm. i tried to pull on the troublesome cable again and no luck. any more ideas?

I use an actual heat light and let it sit right on it overnight,,, I have never had a problem with one doing this,,,

So I have discovered that the problem is the actual choke plunger itself not the cable that is stuck. even with WD-40 and multiple heatings with lights it will not come free even with all my strength pulling on the cable. What can I do and how does this happen?

if all else fails, cut the cable, and drill the plunger out,,, take your time and be careful, but it can be done.
the plunger is what I originally thought you were saying was stuck. I also dont know that I have ever used wd40 for this,,, I have always used PB Blaster,,, I feel its a MUCH better product,,, but you may have one that the blaster wont even get out.
