That is a whole lot of miles...WOW ! Anyone think they could break it in the time frame? That's an average of 202.7 miles per day for 60 day's.! !

If you guy's take a look at totallyamaha.com, his whole story is documented on there. You just have to scroll down to the 4-stroke forum, then go to the ty fun mileage thread and it's under "Hondo's" thread. He has something like 30,000-35,000 miles on his 2005 Yamaha venture. He is still running his unrebuilt engine, and has taken pics of the speedo every so often and his locations to to document this.

i'm pretty sure he's single and if he wasn't single before the trip, after it he would be.

I will take 500 quality miles in a season over 1500 mile rush to get it done and not remember any of them miles,,,,, too many people get hung up on miles,,, they gauge their season on how many mile they put on their sled. I have always had a simple goal of 1000 mile (I live in Ohio, so thats pretty steep for me),,, this year I come close to 1800 but I rode nearly every mile with good friends and it was by far the best year I have ever had. Had that number been 900 and they were as high of quality,,,, I would say the same thing,,,

Hi Guys and Gals,

This is my first post on this site.

I usually hang out over on TY, which is where my ride was documented.

Don't hold that against me...LOL...

Just for clarification:

On the original Guinness certificate, they spelled my last name wrong. I wrote Guinness a letter and asked them to make the spelling correction and also add the brand and model snowmobile which they did. I have provided another photo of the corrected certificate.

Guinness has also updated their Website to reflect me as the new record holder for the "Longest Snowmobile Journey". In the narrative they gooned up my last name again. I sent them an email to make that correction. Never-the-less, progress is being made to ensure accuracy.

The sled now has 36,036 miles on the original factory engine. I may ride it a bit more next winter.

From December 1st 2007 to April 19th 2008, I rode a total of 14,633 miles. My wife and best friend supported this endeavor 1000%.

Thanks Puree,

I appreciate the acknowledgement.

Riding for 60 days is mentally and physically challenging.

Along the way there is quite a bit that needs to be part of the routine such as, daily log book documentation required by Guinness, (Date, Time, Location and Witness Signature, and Reason for Stop) keeping up with weather, staying on course, checking riding partners needs, planning fuel and lodging stops, just to name a few.

I have many life long memories for sure.:thumbs-up:

Puree,

Here is a link to TY where the entire seasons rides were documented from December 1st 2007 through April 19th 2008.

http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=48682

I rode the TY Mileage Fun Contest in conjunction with the Guinness Record attempt. I also continued to post until my last ride April 19th.

The link above is a lengthy read (26 web pages) and should provide the detail you are looking for.

I have a website that is under construction which the Guinness information will be transfered, along with other information.

Hope this helps!:thumbs-up:
