so i just picked up a pro x 2 800. its a 2004 looks pretty good. Guy left it outside for last two years with a cover on it... but i picked it up for 2000 dollars. changed the chain case oil. switched the lubricating oil from some red oil that nobody knew back to the proper polaris gold, it has an mbrp can on it. looks like it was done properly and jetted right. has a gold spring in the clutch, not sure what that gonna do for me.

what do i have on my hands. does it match up to the newer sleds and what is the sled really worth. 2200 miles on it>?:rolleyes2:

well it sounds like you got a good deal as long as its in desent shape. I paid 3500 for 03 pro x 800 it has 1700 miles on it. as far as comparing to newer models just rember that you only have 2000$ in to it besides i think it will perform well enough for that kind of money. I would recomend pulling out the rear suspension checking all your bearings and wheels as well as the cog drive it's a little bit of work but it's worth it when you don't break down on the trail. as far as your gold spring the previous owner might have done that for modification reasons I'm not to sure but I think the gold is 4500 rpm engagement wich is no good in the powder
