I have a 1988 yamaha phazer pz480, last season i ran it stock and it topped at 140.
now over the summer i have put into it a dg pipe and also aftermarket filters.
i pulled it out of the garage yesterday and decided to see what it has, so it starts first pull and idles perfect. it has tonnes of power and it will carry the skis right till 80km/h. but around 90-100 it loses its push and barely goes past 105, im not sure what would cause that... the only thing is i havnt jeted it, it has currently 145's in it and they are the small hex size, it is twin carb and im not sure if that could be the problem or what size to go to, so if u have any suggestions please, help me
what size of jets would be a good estimate to try
also if i do jet the carb what else would i have to change besides the main jet, and how do i test that the jet size is good
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
