I have a 96 formula 3 and last year I replaced the limiter strap. I checked it this year and it needs replacing again. I have over sized idler wheels in the back, would that be the problem or something else? :(

what is the strap doing?

The strap is fraying almost like it is rubbing in the middle, also it is loose when parked shouldn't it be tight? Should i be using a rubber strap.
