: Back From A Week Of Deer Hunting
FishHog 11-14-2002, 09:41 AM Well, I'm back from a week of deer hunting. Didn't miss work a bit.
Missed SW some, but had fun anyway.
Here is a pic of the deer I wanted to shoot, but my buddy got it instead.
FishHog 11-14-2002, 09:48 AM Here is a pic of mine.
I won't even tell you about the one that got away
FishHog 11-14-2002, 09:58 AM Here's one more, of where the Beavers dropped 2 trees right between my truck and my Quad.
It almost turned into Beaver Season ;)
Sled Dogg 11-14-2002, 10:11 AM It would have been to dam funny if they dropped a tree on your truck. Though not for you or the beaver. Thtat's a awfully big rack yourholding lol. By brother cut 8up a deer last week, it was taken with a semi lol. Though it was a rather large 5 pointer.

LadyK 11-14-2002, 11:46 AM Fishie we had a beaver doo that to us on the trail.Chewed the tree down and fell right in front of us :nervous: As for the dead animal I hate to tell you if you want to impress a woman with a dead animal a fur coat works better ;) :) Im glad you had fun though :D
TallCool1 11-14-2002, 12:02 PM Just think Fish, you could have had a stuffed beaver!!!
Glad to see you had fun outside, even if it was w/out the sled. Can't believe how close the beaver put that tree to your truck. Is that where the snow was last week?
Fish, the big ones always get away, just like in fishing. ;) ???
Hey at least you got one,bow season has been bad to me so far. This weekend I gotta score, the late bow season sucks after gun season. ???

Yes it is, and in fact there was 2" of snow on the 7th. That pic was taken the 9th, after it got warm. Infact, the lake was frozen over, had a hard time getting to my cottage. By Sat, it was all gone.

paul yarek 11-14-2002, 08:53 PM fishie,
where were you hunting with rifles ?
greatwhitenorth 11-14-2002, 09:17 PM Nice deer Snorat, I am gonna go hunting tomorrow morning, hopefully shoot the same size or bigger, lol. What kind of rifles do most of you peope use? I use a .30-06 with 180grthat is bolt action, a bit to big, I like my dads .308 semi, thats a good rife.
zrgreen 11-15-2002, 05:41 AM Here in Southern Zone of NY..no rifles allowed, opening day Monday. Have to use shotgun, muzzleloader, or handgun. Northern Zone in NY rifles are allowed. Supposed to get snow this weekend..better than last year when it was 75 degrees.
Darryn Duncan 11-15-2002, 08:35 AM At least you guys got bucks, I only saw one and it was 3/4 miles away, so I shot a big doe and a little buck, and will have a freezer full of meat atleast. I am jealouse of all three of those bucks.
FishHog 11-15-2002, 09:16 AM I hunt mainly for meat. Took does the previous two years, but always dream of the big ones. Actually, I thought the one I shot was a doe, until I got up to it. It will be good eating anyway.
We were hunting just north of Huntsville at my cottage. Gun season started the 4th and runs to the 16th.
I also use a 30-06, 180gr. You don't need that big for deer, but I use the same load for Moose, so I just stick with it.
FishHog
As for Frosty the bananna eater, all I can say is.
Its not how deep you fish, its how you wiggle the worm
Snow Monkey 11-15-2002, 05:39 PM thatsFROSTY the BANANA PICKER.......GET IT RIGHT...... :p
