MY CABLE MODEM IS ONLY PUTTING OUT ABOUT 60K, I BOUGHT THE 192 AND THE CABLE GUY IS NOT SURE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, I AM USING A IBM THINKPAD, 1420, WITH A PCMICA CARD USING WINDOWS 98 SE. WE HAVE WENT THROUGH ALOT OF STUFF AND THE GUY THOUGH IT MAY BE THE LINE, MAYBE, BUT THE COMPUTER WILL START TO DOWN LOAD AT 13 KBS, THEN IT FALLS TO 6-7 IT SHOULD BE RUNNING A MIN OF 15. ANYONE HAVE ANY THOUGHTS, OR IS THERE A SETTING I AM MISSING?

It could be the server you are downloading from. I download at 400K-600K/sec all the time on my laptop. But on some servers all I will get is 6-7K/sec. Have you tried a bunch of different webpages to test your connection. Or better yet, go to this webpage. DSL Reports (http://www.dslreports.com)
Then go to Tools, then to test connection speed. That will give you an estimate of your speed. If it still shows slow, then you have something wrong with your connection. First try the cheapest to fix, IE the cable. Then move to your network card. If that doesnt fix it a new cable modem box might be teh trick. If that doesn't fix it, I dont know what to tell you. Good Luck.

I dowloaded at 854 kbps and uploaded at 122 kbps.
Caleb
Your download speed : 923413 bps, or 923 kbps.
A 112.7 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 184331 bps, or 184 kbps.
Oh yeah  I love Cable :inlove:

Hehe, you guys are just touching what I have for a connection. :)
I'm downloading at 1428 and uploading at 324. :D But yes, cable is the best. Unless you have a untapped T1 line.

i am out at the brother in laws now, i thought that the 192 had been fast, but he has a 1.5 conecttion, and it make mine look slow in comparison.
