Due to major operation and loss of strength will probably need to add reverse in near future. Have been quoted a price of approx. $500. About right? Due to loss of HP(how much) what can be easily added as modification(s) to compensate? Sled is stock with 3200 miles. Thanks for the help.

i don't think there will be any horsepower loss, just the added weight.

I added manual reverse to my Z 700, price is about right($425Plus Tax). I installed the reverse in about 3.5 hours(first time) making sure to read the instruction thoruoghly. I think it added about 10 LBS (guess) , but weight should not matter unless you are racing. I have a bad back and will never again purchase a sled without reverse. Try to find a reverse kit for sale in the swap area, or in the classifieds.
