I have a stock 95 STX 583 :D

I am happy with it so far

What can I doo to add some extra ooomph to it???

I have gotten 99.6mph on radar :devil:

But I am not really into lake racing though ;)

I like the 0-60 rush more :hallo1: and the midrange punch more too

I was looking at getting a Fatboy pipe :sly: from FAST(I see them in the classifieds once in a while)

Anyone have experience with the Fatboy in a 94-96 STX 583 or 94-96 Formula Z ???

Would gearing down be an option to get the Oomph???

I was thinking of gearing down a tooth or 2 with/without a Fat Boy pipe

Must be someone out there with experience on a STX or FZ 94-96

Oh ya I am NOT studded,don't plan on it as the track has 13,000kms on it/but looks like new

Would love to get a 1.25 but $$$$ is just not here at the moment :(

I have the recoil apart right now

I have another recoil here and the spring is broken

Anyway my recoil has not been catching all the time, :cussing: I rebuilt it twice last winter but it still not right

So I got another recoil off a friend with broken spring

The other recoil has a cover on top of the spring and there was none on mine original???

Now do they all have covers on the spring???

The recoil is from 377,and seems to have and look the same except for the cover on the spring

I want to know if it needs the cover or not.

I am getting frustrated :angry:

All my Skidoos have had recoil problems,except for my 89 Scout E(electric start) :D

Never had recoil problems with my Poos and Yams;)

Maybe next Doo should have Electric start :sly:

So no one had a 94-96 Formula Zed nor STX ???

Wrenched on a buddies 94 F-Z this summer for the grass drag season. The front clutch worked better stock, and we ended up with a 54-48 in the back. Picked up 9 tenths with a little tweaking over stock. You could gear it down but would then have traction issues. These motors do like the FAST single pipes. They are pretty quick for a 583.
