i have a 98 mach z with 5000 miles on it, was reading the article about reeds on this site and was wondering what the general consensus was on when to change them, i am experiencing no ill effects from the stock units but probably are getting worn. what is the average mileage these should be replaced?

mxzx1 - Most of the oems recomend once a year on the reeds, but I would say more about 2000-2500 miles. Mine needed it at 3000.

They are very important though. Guys who race motocross will change them 2 times a year.
