does anyone know exactly what the sportfire series was? ive looked on the internet at like jdsleds and stuff but its not very clear info. what is the difference between the sport trail sprint..... ???? does anyone know? i am particularly interested in the sportfire, that is what i have, a 1980. for example in 1980, if i was buying a snowmobile, why would i pick one or the other.... thanks.

Sportfire was a fan cooled 440 with conventional chaincase. Sprintfire was a liquid cooled 340 direct drive sled. Liquifire was a 440 liquid cooled sled. Very heavy. We owned a Spitfire which was a free air cooled 340 direct drive. Very light sled. I can't really remember much more about them.

i looked through my old magazines and this is what i come up with, sportfire is marketed like a 440 fan cooled performance sled and the trailfire is like a 440 trail sled.(big, thick seat, soft ride suspension,6inches of travel=trailfire) trailfire also was avalible with a 340cc fan
