I just purchased a 95 Pantera 580 EFI L/C that has a bogging problem once it is warmed up. When it warms up it will slowly bog and then it will stop like the brake is on as hard. It will only move after you shut it off and it cools down. The guy I purchased it from has had this work done to it: new piston/rings on one side, rebuilt stator, new rubber intake boots to injection rail, and new oxygen sensors. I rode it around his yard a few times and it sounded strong and nothing abnormal! I just got it home and got it to act up for the first time. It will idle fine when this happens unless I cause it to stall and then I flooded it. It was flashing a code after which was one long and one short. TPS short or open is what I found online. I'm wondering if anyone has any knowledge of this issue? Within a few minutes I had it running again like nothing ever happened. It would move just fine. I'm happy to have the sled but just don't want to have to stop during a ride to let it cool. Anything I find out tomorrow will post. Thanks for any help.

I did find that it has the wrong plugs in it. It has BR9YS when I found BR9ES are the correct plugs. I got it to bog again after I had trouble gettting it to go back into drive. I was going along and it slipped out of drive and I stop moving. I still have the code flashing but I don't know if the ECU clears itself or that code was stored from the previous owner? I wonder if I caused the bog when I was giving it throttle and wasn't going anywhere. With the wrong plugs is it possible to have it do that? Also when the bogging happened and I was letting it idle, it was idling at 3000ish when its normal idle is between 1500 and 2200. I would give it throttle and it would bog, I let go of the throttle it dropped in rpms to maybe 500 and then it would idle fine. I then give it throttle and it started to act normal but as soon as it got to about 4000 rpm it started to bog again and I did this a few times. Maybe in a 4 to 5 minute time period. I then tried again and it took off like nothing happened. PLEASE HELP!

The fuel pump wasn't keeping up. Had a gauge on it and drove 8 miles on a trail until it acted up. 15 psi isn't enough pressure for the engine.
