here's some background on the problem. I have a 1993 Arctic Cat Jag 440 Z and it ran great, I cleaned the carbs and it ran better, I took it around the house and it ran fine then my brother sat on it and it died. it started up and went ten feet then died again and we started it, it smoked like crazy and died. now the plugs come out wet whenever I try to start it and it won't run for more than 30 secs. the airfilters also have some gas on them but whenever I check the float bowls their fine. please help I'm stuck.

How much did you take apart in the carbs?
Is it both sides?
It sounds like the bowls are overfilling. That usually involves the inlet needle and/or seat. (It can even be an issue with solids in the fuel behind the seat trying get through the hole.) Sometimes, removing the carbs and taking them apart can dislodge stuff which them ends up where it doesn't belong, especially if you didn't actually take everything apart and clean it well.
If its both sides, perhaps you accidentally bumped the enriching/"choke" lever or cables - or didn't get them adjusted the way they should be. Those plungers need to close all the way when the level is "off".

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, I checked the choke plungers and they seem fine. is there anything I can use as lube to be sure?
