I have an 03 firecat 700 and it seems that it runs fine after you get it moving. Just no get up in go and no throttle response at all... could it be the APV valves????? Any ideas....

I have this same problem, hold it to the handlebars when your stopped and it bogs until a certain rpm.

Do you have any idea of What it is? At half throttle it will go but when you punch it it bogs and then takes off.

I've had the problem last year on my 04 F7. Threw some gas line deicer in the fuel and ran it for a while and it cleared up. Might just be some ice in the fuel lines.

Every full tank of fuel i throw in a little bottle of gasline antifreeze, so its not that.

My sled was doing some funny stuff similiar to what you guys are describing. I went thru the machine and took apart every electrical connection possible and put a bit of di-electric grease in them and plugged them back in.....Have yet to have it happen since then. I'm almost positive water/moisture was getting into one of the sensor connections somewhere and causing mis-readings by the ECM.

my friend has a 99 zr 600 efi and does the same thing you talk about where u hit it then it bogs then it takes off. he ran injector cleaner and it seemed to help but last week it completely blew and the dealer said that it was bogging due to a weak cylinder wall now 800 dollars later its fine. granted his sled doesnt have power valves so it may be a totally different thing but he had 5300 miles no rebuild so you may wanna check that out if you cant find a solution.

Have you guys having this problem tried cleaning the APV valves yet to eliminate them as the issue?
The first 2 years I owned my sled it had a similiar issue. It wasn't quite a bog to half throttle..but sometimes if you go from idle to full throttle it would spit and sputter for maybe 2 seconds then take off like a bat outta hell. One time while riding in very wet conditions I kept getting sprayed with water from the sled in front of me with each mogul we went thru. Five minutes later my sled was bogging left and right, spitting and sputtering.....all at lower rpm, once in a higher rpm range it would straighten out. For the rest of that weekend it was doing the same thing. When I got home with it I took apart all easily accesible electric connectors, blew them out and put a touch of dielectric grease in them. I did also clean my power valves and add A/C injector cleaner at the same time. I've never had that problem since..so wether it was dirty power valves, injectors or water in the electrical connections... something I did made the problem go away. I also do put a splash of Isopropyl in my tank with each fill up so I'm pretty sure that water in the fuel had nothing to do with it.

I suppose if a power valve gets hung open it could cause some serious issues at lower RPM. The power valves don't open until high RPM range. While on a run stand and watching my servo motor.....it wouldn't even move until I was around 3/4 to full throttle. They don't open slow or partially like one would think either...it opens full every time and very quickly at that.

One other thing I notice even to this day after having gotten rid of the bog issue. It seems the sled makes better power when you feather the gas or ease into full throttle, rather than cracking fully open from a idle....maybe its just me..or my sled but it's noticable for sure.
