I own 2 2004 sabercat sleds and they both are due for ski shocks I went through the local parts unlimited dealer and I ended up with 2 kimpex n7's and just 1 kimpex gold the other one needs to come out of another location I paid the same price I am just wondering if any body out there knows the diference between the 2 models. I can not find a comparison any where on line Please Help

well to be honest, i hate to say it sir, but those shocks may end up doing more harm than good in the long run... the valving in those shocks are not progression shocks and therefor apply the same amount of pressure throughout its compression, I would be careful with these as I have seen them bend bulkheads off a good jolt. Especially with a sabercat bulkhead you need to be extra careful, these bulk heads are not known for their strength.

as for the difference between the two its hard to say... i try to stay away from kimpex products all together.

may I ask why you didnt just get the ones that came on it rebuilt? not only is it cheaper, but the shocks are rated for the weight of the machine.

I hear you on that!
I was given a set of Kimpex ski's by a Kimpex dealer to try out and spread the word....Now I am greatful to have been given the chance to try them, but here's the word...They STINK! It was probablya the equivelent of sticking 2 childrens sleds under the nose of the snowmobile and trying to drive it around. I was in a accident that day and I 90% blame it on the ski's..the other 10% of blame goes on the fool that did a U- turn in front of me on the lake. I swear on all things holy that if my stock ski's were on that day I would've been able to avoid this person.
However I have no knowledge to input on the the Kimpex shocks...but I do agree with Matty that I avoid Kimpex products all together.

I was told that the Ryde F/x stock shocks were not rebuildable and there really is nothing left on my 600 and the 700 is real close to the same. I will Keep a close eye on them. And research this more. I allready installed them on my 700 and I am going out to Dolgelville NY tomorrow and I did all of the suspension on it so I am not riding far because I have to dial it in and I can not even begin to guess my baseline settings for ski settings or front skid shock I have used Kimpex stuff before and never had any problem with my old school sleds But I will definitly keep an eye out Maybe I will try and find someone to rebuild the oem's

I got a second opinion and the stock ryde f/x on the sabercats are not rebuildables.
