Thinking of putting my 74 299 rotax motor into a 72 yamaha 292 gps till I get it rebuilt. haven't bought the yamaha yet but was wondering if it will bolt in or is there a lot of changing to do before I do

back in the mid 80s me and my brother used to mix and match all kinds of engines to different sleds.first make sure the clutches align so the belt stays straight. 2nd- make sure you can fit a exhaust. 3rd- make sure the hood will fit (close) also make sure the skidoo engine doesn't interfear with the steering.but if you want your yamaha to stay origanal, don't put the skidoo engine in because you will have to drill hole in the body to mount the engine. hope this helps you to deside. good luck
