On my front right idler wheel I have a crack on the yellow plastic cover. *

I just wanted to make sure that it is a plastic cover and not a rim of some sort. *It looks to me like its a rubber wheel with a yellow plastic cover.

I side swiped somthing and left a little scuf on the wheel and a small crack. *Hardly noticable but with all this no snow action i had a lot of time to go over the machine and check things out. *Then i found it.

The yellow portion is actually a wheel. The wheel is aluminum with the rubber portion vulcanized to it. You need to change this wheel right away. They are about $20-$25 dollars and come with the bearing already installed.

for the short cash i would buy a new one!! how long have you been waiting to ride! for 25 i would buy a new one. id allso get new bearings for the wheels to they dont fly off. cheap easy maintence.

Pop a new one on. *Very CHEAP and EASY to doo. Broken idlers suc on the trails. *

I have noticed mine and all of my friends are the same way. *The yellow plastic is just cracking. *It is no big deal, it is just a fancy covering. *I would save your money, it is just cosmetic. *The functionality of the wheel is still fine.

Blaise i agree with you. *Im certain that its a plastic cover over a rubber wheel. *My 98 has aluminum wheels maybe thats what everyone else is mixing up. *

I think I will just run it till the end of the season. *And will check it over good next time i see my machine.
