I just repalaced my 1986 el-tigre 530 motor with a new one. Looking for proper idle speed. It seems to want to idle at 2800. I see alot of posts on the web not one gives a good answer.

well since it seems like you don't have the owners manual for that engine. most people usually say to set it as low as it can go without dying.

No manual. It will go real low just didnt know the correct speed. Hard to adjust twin carbs!!!!

hey I agree with the low rpm just do not go to low otherwise when you take off the motor will have a tendincy to grog and want to die I would set it aroud 1200 - 1500 at idle. GOOD LUCK
