i recently replaced gaskets on my 87 phazer and cleaned the carbs up but i still cant get any power out of it it starts and idles fine but soon as i get on the gas it bogs down i left the air box off in cause i had to take the carbs out again how much affect does the air box have is this my problem or not any suggetstions would be great

Try lifting the track in the air and see if it spins, you may have clutching, belt or binding suspension issues.
