Not trying to start a flame war here.
A have an '04 Legend and from what I hear, the Arctic Cats are way plusher. I don't want to give up on reliability either.
Can someone steer me in the right direction?

I don;t think Cat has a sled that is as good on fuel. The Z1 Touring might be the best on fuel, but I don't know what it returns. Reliability is not an issue because they all make good ones and crappy ones. They all break and on is not really any worse than the other.

Thanks. That was what I was afraid of on the economy front.
True that every manufacturer can make good and bad sleds but as a rule, every manufacturer has a model or a certain year to try to avoid. Maybe it was a first year for a model or maybe a bad run of parts. you know what I'm trying to say . . .

the 660 turbo gets good gas mileage. I have ahad 18+ MPG days on a regular basis. I am actually surprised how well the ZR 900 does for such a big displaced sled.

What I'm really looking for is something just as fast and with similar fuel economy as my sdi that can ride PLUSH through the chewed up trails. As I get older, I'm more into comfort than being able to rip through a trail faster than the next guy.

The Cats always seem to get great reviews on ride and handling quality.

So no other recommendations for a decently fast Cat that's comfy and great on gas???

The Z1 Touring Turbo should be decently fast, as well as quick, and should be reasonable on fuel because you'll only need a little bit of the throttle.

The best I have seen on a consistent basis, is the 2008-2009 F8 or F1000. Great performance, great comfort, and decent economy. 14-18 mpg are common if you watch it a little. You won't go wrong on the ride quality, there isn't anything close. IMO
