I just bought a 2007 IQ touring cleanfire 600 and sometimes when I use the PERC it will backfire and shut off just before it supposed to go into reverse or coming from reverse to drive.I just had it to the dealer for service and they cleaned the power valves and put new plugs in but it still happens, although the sled runs better.Any Ideas where to go next?Maybe a injector cleaner? The sled runs good other than this.

i have the same problem with my sled. i have to feather the throttle to get it to work. At same time i just pick er up and turn it around now cause it pisses me off.

Two things to remember when using PERC ( or anyone else's electronic engine reverse. 1, all 2 stroke engines need to be at a certain temperature to run properly, that is you need to warm up the engine to pull away, forwards or backwards. All mine take a least a 2-3 minute warm up before they will move without coughing and burping. So you just can't start a PERC sled, and expect to imediately back it out of the garage/trailer without proper warm up. 2, the PERC controller only allows a certain amout of RPM in reverse, for safety reasons. When the engine hits that limit, it cuts the ignition, again causing the engine to cough and burp and run pretty rough.

i dont think that is the issue here. my sled i run it all day at operating temp and it just wont run perc right. and i clean everything every 300 miles and my suspension comes out to be greased and checked every 1000 so its not a matter of being dirty.

My sled does it after a long days ride too,and its only every once in awhile.had the valves cleaned and it helped a bit but didn't cure it.I'm wondering if I should use premium gas in it.

I have found that PERC works best when Idle rpms at set at factory specs.
