I have two nearly identical machines, one of which goes through a lot more oil than the other. The only difference between the machines is that one is electric start (and color). Obvisouly the electric start should not make a difference other than a little bit of weight.

My last time out I went through 3/4 "tank" of oil with 3/4 tank of gas (~90 miles). We ran a bit harder than normal but does this make any sense to someone? How much oil should I go through? What are some reasons that one one machine might use more oil than the other?

Thanks,
-Tim

check the oil injector to see if the lines line up? i don't kow how much oil you should be using but that is way too much and if you use synethic you will need a mortage to buy your oil!

Guys your consumption has to be dilagently measured out! Meaning that if you use approximately 5 gals.(22.5-23 liters)of gas, you should use at least 500 mls. of oil,10 gals.-1000ml.or 1 liter of oil ! Very simple this will give you the 50/1 ratio required by most manufacturers. The other case being you need to know whats your tank capacity on your sleds they could have different tank sizes!!Also the oil cable that goes down to your pump this is where you check your gap for the pump, some twins and older sleds had the marks on the pump housing, simular to Polaris.Hope this helps.....
