i am looking to replace the reeds in my 2000 mach z. v force seems kinda pricy, i`m leaning towards carbon tech or boyesen, but i have heard that carbon tech reeds wear through the stock cages. also if i went with carbon tech or boyesen will i have to rejet or leave it stock? just wondering what you guys with the tripples are replacing yours with.....thanks

I just put Carbon Tech in my 98. The instructions say you may have to go down a size on the pilot for flatslides but my Doo dealer said if it's running fine he would just leave the stock jets in it. Took it out for a ride last Sat. and it seems to run fine so I think I'll just leave it alone (not a big deal if it's running a little rich on the low end as long as it's not sputtering or loading up). As for the Carbon Techs vs Boyesen everything I have read says carbon fibre will out last fiberglass so I decided to give them a try (V-Force also uses carbon fibre petals). I haven't heard of the "wearing of the cages thing". maybe someone else can shed some light on that.

spend the extra money or even find some used. go v force. how stiff they are plays a little part but not much. its the amout that can flow tru the cage that counts

I agree that it's the amount that flows through the cage that counts but that's also determined by the size of your intake ports and how well your motor breaths. If everything else is stock except for the reeds then you won"t really be getting a good bang for the buck by installing V-Force (I've been told that in order to get your moneys worth out of the V-Force you must port it, pipe it and make it breathe better). Afterall your only going to flow as much fuel as your stock intake ports and air box will allow.

NO THATS WRONG U WILL GET A GREAT INCREASE IN THROTTLE RESPONCE AND SPEED WITH THE V FORCE. THEY MAKE A BID DIFF. ON THE SKIDOO

I would go with the V Force 2 reeds for the Mach Z. Yes, they are a lot more money , and although I haven't tried the other brands. I know first hand that the v force reeds work well on the 2000 Mach Z Mostly in throttle response. It's amazing

I had V-Force 2 reeds in my 2000 Mach Z and it was the best bang for the buck. * I did not try Carbon Tech or Boyessen, so I cannot comment on those reeds. *I had Boyessen's in my 98 Formula III 700 with dynoport pipes and it ran real well. *My Mach Z had a much better throttle response and ran extremely well. *Sometimes I wish I still had it. *I have a good friend that races and he says, " If you are going to race to win go with the V-Force 2's you will not notice the difference by the seat of your pants but you will at the finish line." "If you want better throttle response, crisper, go with the Boyessen's they are the best bang for the buck." *Hope this helps.
