I have an 04 ZR900. Should I spend the money on AC oil or is Amsoil acceptable?

All I ran in my 2000 600efi that I used to have was Amsoil. You can't go wrong with it in my opinion

What about Klotz? I've heard a lot of good things. Anyone use it?

I have a 600 EFI powderspecial, I have run KLOTZ the entire time, It has worked really well for me. I have just started using it in my M8 the last few tanks of the season, I was a little concerned about the power valves, but so far no problems. My local cat shop has assured me as long as you use a high end Synthetic you wont have a problem with the valves.
Hope this helps.

I wondered this myself, and have a good comparison to prove amsoil is better! Me and my bro in law ride together all the time, so same warm up time, trail speed, miles, etc... Mine is an 04' F6 running amsoil, he has an 06' crossfire 7 using AC oil. I just pulled the exhaust valves out of both of them the other night, mine had some carbon but not bad on top of piston and valve(amsoil), his had a ton of carbon on top of piston and one of the valve was hard to get out! (AC oil) I questioned if his pump needed to be adjusted, but we both used about the same amount of oil also, for the season...

AMSOIL does outperform and is a bit cheaper. AC around here is over $40/gallon. You can save quit a bit even with shipping.

on a side note i used mobil 1 in my r6 for a few changes, then heard about amsoil being better and oh man it made shifting smoother and the engine sounded better.

back on topic, since you dealers are in here whats the difference between the interceptor and hp injector oils?

The Interceptor has higher detergent additives for the main purpose of keeping those power exhaust valves clean, and it does a good job at that. If you don't have the valves, then either oil is a fine product. The HP runs a little less.

I forgot to mention, I started out using interceptor in my F6, but it seemed rather thirsty.. I read other posts with the same results, they said to use hp injector, so i have the last 4 years, and with the exhaust valve comparison with ac oil, I will stick with it! Dam I wish i could have got pictures...

i found out the same thing with our polaris xc 600's. i have a 02 and so does my brother. identiclle sleds. he used shell, i used ams oil intercepter. its amazing the differnece in the power valves. mine hardly had any carbon on the power valves. my brothers was coated.
Ams oil is by the the best in my opnion. Its great stuff

Always heard good things about Amsoil, can't go wrong.
I personaly started with Klotz when my 2001 800 ZRT was new,
still running strong after 11,000 miles on it.
